About The Station

Shannon's journey into the beauty industry began unexpectedly after realizing she needed more than a desk job. She pursued cosmetology at A Cut Above Beauty College, graduating in 1998, and started her career at a high-energy salon in Broad Ripple. There, she gained invaluable experience and education, working alongside talented stylists.

After a few years of moving around, she took the leap into salon ownership, running Static Salon for a decade—a transformative experience that shaped her both personally and professionally. Along the way, she had the opportunity to work backstage with top stylists, expanding her skills and earning the trust of her clients.

Following Static’s closure, Shannon relocated to Greenwood to be closer to family and built a new home for her career. In 2017, she opened The Station Hair Parlor as a single-chair salon, expanding to a four-chair operation in 2019. For her, hair isn’t just a job—it’s a passion. She loves coming to work every day and looks forward to sharing that passion with you!

Kayla Price, a native of Indianapolis, recently graduated from Aveda’s Fredric’s Institute in September. She has been part of The Station Hair Parlor for over a year, assisting while in school and gaining experience in both the salon and boutique. She also enjoys helping with vendor events, connecting with the community, and sharing her favorite finds.

Outside the salon, Kayla loves trips to Brown County, fishing, concerts, and spending time with family and friends. Passionate about the beauty industry, she finds joy in helping clients feel their best and most confident. Ready to achieve your hair goals? Reach out and book with Kayla today!

Katlyn has been a hairstylist for 11 years, starting with men’s cuts before co-owning “The Barbershop” for two years. After its closure during the pandemic, she expanded into women’s hair and color, with a passion for wedding and prom updos.

Meagin is currently studying at Empire Beauty School to become a licensed cosmetologist. She has loved doing hair since childhood and is excited to turn her passion into a career. For the past year, she has worked as a receptionist at The Station Hair Parlor, learning techniques from Shannon and Kayla while gaining experience in customer service, scheduling, and retail.

In her free time, Meagin enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, soaking up the sun, and reading. She looks forward to helping clients feel like their best selves and can’t wait to start taking appointments. Until then, you’ll find her at the front desk at The Station Hair Parlor and Salty Woods!
